Carpet stains happen, and when they do, they can be a nightmare to get rid of. With these handy tips, you should be able to get rid of them in no time! Plus when you're done, there are some great added extras life fireplaces you could get for your home to change it up a bit.

 

For Red wine - Use the kitchen towels to clean up as much of the spilt alcohol as possible. Then spritz with carbonated water. Blot with a clean microfiber cloth and repeat until the stain is gone.

For Paint - Emulsion needs to be mopped with cold water while you need to apply warm water to acrylic paint.

 

For Felt Tips - Water-based ink can expunge by using carpet shampoo. If you were using spirit-based ink, you will need to apply the methylated spirit. This should get the ink out well.

 

For Pet stains - Any pet stains can be removed easily. Blot repeatedly until the carpet is almost dry to the touch and the carpet stain is removed. Then use a carpet cleaner to remove further.

 

For Coffee - Coffee spills happen, to remove, try the mixture of vinegar, water, and a gentle, non-bleach detergent first with the spritzer method. You can then rinse and repeat.

 

For Carpet Refresh - A complete carpet refresh is always handy. Lightly sprinkle on baking soda and work it into a pile with a soft brush. Let it sit for 15 -30 minutes before vacuuming. Make sure the vacuum canister is empty. 

 

For Blood - Broken glasses and smashed plates happen, sometimes, you just can’t avoid these often tiny but pesky stains. Apply cold water, then blot with a clean cloth. Repeat until the stain is gone.

 

For Candle wax - Rub an ice pack on the wax until it hardens. Gently break up the wax, then vacuum up the pieces

 

For Chocolate - Use a dull knife to scrape away as much chocolate as possible. If the chocolate is melted, place a resealable plastic bag filled with ice cubes over the stain to harden the remaining chocolate before scraping. Vacuum the area to pick up any loose flakes or pieces. 

 

For Gum - Peel away as much gum as you can. Harden the remaining gum by placing a resealable plastic bag of ice cubes over it. Chip gum away with a spoon or dull knife. Vacuum and clean lingering stains with a dry-solvent carpet cleaner.
