Balau wood is generally used for heavy construction especially in humid conditions often where there is contact with the ground. This wood is used among other things for bridges, rail road sleepers, electric poles, flooring, and boats.
Importantly from a conservation point of view the Yellow Balau in this sunlounger originates from government managed sustainable forests in Myanmar.
