5 in 1 petrol multitool by Aston Anderson
I purchased a 5 in 1 multi tool, have difficulties getting it started, the instructions around starting the machine is not very clear, an the black and white photos in the manual has no definition therefore not usefull. I rang the help desk who took my details and said they would get back to me as they are very busy, and I am still waiting for the call.
The delivery was very good, but the after sales service does not exist. I could never recommend trueshopping as I believe the after sales service is very poor.

Appalling instruction manual by melvin
A couple of simple indicators of how poor the manual is:
"Now take the strimmer cord storage container (strimmer spool) and screw it clockwise....." Should say anticlockwise.
".....using the plug spanner/screw driver combination". There is no screwdriver and this is the first mention of a screw driver. They seem to be referring to inserting allen key into series of holes to thold the screwthread in place when adding strimmer spool or brush cutter.
Sadly there are many other inconsistencies/errors/missing info.
In front of of the trigger on the multitool there is a sprung screw. It is not mentioned in the manual so I dont know what it is/does. It may relate to the starting of the machine which was not as easy as I had imagined
And to top it all the sponge cover on the handle was torn. Unfortunately the job I had bought the tool for was urgent so have had to use the handle in that condition.
In its favour the tool does look strong/sturdy. For an item at the cheaper end of the market it does not look cheap at all. And having managed to start the machine I was very pleased with the action/balance of tool (but have only used it for strimming very long grass so far.

decent quality by anonymous
Only received this just 2 weeks ago so have not even fired it up yet, must say that they instruction booklet is not for the fainthearted, for sure it will take some patience and effort to learn how all the various pcs fit together, having said that the items look decent quality and it is certainly robust in construction, given the amount of tools you get for a fairly modest investment it seems to be a good investment

Excellent piece of kit by anonymous
A well made piece of equipment. Very efficient. Does everything I wanted it to. Started easily and the inclusion of a fuel mixing bottle is very useful. Only criticism I have is that the instruction manual needs a lot of understanding.

Flimsy by Bigin
I have checked that the componants work and that's all iv had time for in doing so I found that the chain saw blade adjuster was what I consider Poor quality and it did not give much adjustment giving the fact how blades strech,
That's my first impression,
I will add to this when the tool has done some work

GOOD MACHINE, DREADFUL INSTRUCTIONS by Burslem Dan
All I can say about the 5 in 1 strimmer/brushcutter/hedgetrimmer etc is that the instruction booklet is TOTALLY USELESS. TOTALLY USELESS. Poor quality photographs, small, useless impossible to make out photographs. Totally, totally unhelpful descriptions of how to do things and set up the equipment.
What should be a simple piece of kit is presented to us in a totally incoherent manner, therefore causing deep anger and frustration, which therefore demonstrates a lack of care for us as customers. Why not make it really easy for us? I've never used something like this, I need some simple and clear guidance to put it all together. Not too much to ask for, surely?
Steps 1-5/6/7 for setting up each application would seem the obvious way forward, with clear and legible illustrations or photographs. and brief but helpful instructions, but the weighty booklet rambles all over the shop, telling and showing us very little of any use, and none of it in any meaningful order. The paper booklet needs a complete overhaul. Better still, ditch it and start again. You need an editor.
The equipment itself, having worked it all out for myself [more or less], because of the inadequate instructions, seems what you might expect for the price. Strimmer is very good, haven't used strimmer blade [would be useful to be told when to use strimmer line vs strimmer blade, and to be clear about how to fit the blade...] or chainsaw pruner [can't face looking at how to fit the chain to be honest]: hedgetrimmer is fine.
I paid £140 and am happy with the price. I'm just staggered by the poor communication via the printed handbook. It would be difficult to produce anything worse than that instruction manual you sold to me. IKEA does these things so much better, and they just print a couple of sides of A4. Trueshopping needs to do better, because that booklet lets down what is otherwise a great tool and a good delivery service...

great machine-great company by kiwiglas
this machine is brilliant i mow grass and cut hedges for a living so i use it every single day if i went out and paid for the name brand gear i would need an extra 2000euro(fact). It broke the spring in the clutch i rang trueshopping up thinking i wouldn't have a leg to stand on (after owning it for over a year )not so i had a entire new engine out to me within 4days and I'm in another country, i have never experienced a company that was more concerned with it's name and reputation as apposed to profits anything i need now i look on the trueshopping site first, keep it up trueshopping you guys are great.

Impressed at first sight by JamieA
The instructions suffer a little in translation, but a small dose of common sense saw everything sorted with no problems.
For the price I expected things to be a bit flimsy, but everything seems solidly built. You have to remember what price you are paying, and then you will be very impressed.
I have only used the hedge trimmer for a couple of minutes, because I couldn't wait to try it out, but it was getting late and I didn't want to disturb the neighbours.
Following the instructions, the engine started second pull, and it certainly seemed to do the job.
In summary, I'm very impressed with what seems to be a well made and comprehensive piece of kit, and will leave another review once I've used it more.

Just ok by anonymous
For the price you can't really complain. Poor instructions and broken release mechanism but can cope with these.

Multi kit by Tony 01582
For the price , this kit is good . Only used hedge cutter so far & that's no joke with the total length of poles .

Nice tools at a nice price by Liam
I have used this set for over 6 months now and the performance is excellent for such an inexpensive item. The extended chain saw saved us from a major problem when a tree blew down onto our power line, after the linesmen made it safe we cut it and dropped it safely to ground. The hedge trimmer has done trojan work as has the brushwood cutter in our 4.5 acre garden.

Servicing a nightmare by MattH
Bought one of these a year ago and whilst it worked fine first of all, given no usage over the winter I've had major issues with it since coming to use it this summer.
Trying to find someone to repair/service it is a nightmare as most places only deal with name branded machines. Being this is unbranded, they wont touch it with a barge pole.
Trueshopping only seem to be interested in the order side of things......obviously.
I would not recommend or ever buy myself an unbranded machine like this again.

Spot on by CGB
Great price , and a great bit of kit, cannot fault it, started 4th pull from new and works really well. Ok the instruction book may well have been left in Chinese, but other than that I cannot fault it.

Sweet boys toy ( I know its not a real toy) by anonymous
I have used the hedge trimmer both short and long... performs very well. It was easy to set up although the manual could be a little bit clearer.

Well made mechanically but electrics not so good by Alan Jackson
Mostly happy but the stop switch does not work and I have to put the choke on or pull the plug cap off to stop it
